Paul Khimasia Morgan is an improviser active in London and Brighton. His approach is concerned with the re-purposing of an amplified acoustic guitar body by means of feedback and live processing techniques. Over the last ten years he has performed with other improvisers Steve Beresford, Blanca Regina, Richard Sanderson, Dimitra Lazaridou-Chatzigoga, Cristián Alvear, Charlotte Keefe, Gus Garside, Mark Wastell’s THE SEEN, and the sound artist Simon Whetham.
His latest releases are a lathe-cut 7” vinyl record with Daniel Spicer, HAZEBLAZE / Coastal Fulmar, which was released on The Slightly Off Kilter Label, and Temperance Five, a quintet recording with Ryu Hankil, Patrick Farmer, Daniel Jones and Jez riley French on French’s label Engraved Glass. His most recent solo cd, Peoplegrowold was released on Mark Wastell’s Confront label.
In 2020 he contributed audio-visual material to the Unpredictable Times live-streamed event which was covered by The Wire Magazine and Lost Property’s Splitting The Atom as well as producing short promotional films for the release of The Phantom Sunrise; his cd with Steve Beresford, Blanca Regina and Richard Sanderson.
His previous work appears on labels including Linear Obsessional, Absence Of Wax, Crónica, and Con-V. Paul curates Aural Detritus Concert Series, hosts The Archive of Aural Detritus podcast and writes about new music for Honest Music For Dishonest Times and The Sound Projector.
