Rowan Forestier is a sound and visual artist based in the UK, recording and performing under the name Embla Quickbeam.
Her work explores the sonorous qualities of objects, resonant space and environmental sound, creating immersive sound worlds using synthesis, tape process and field recordings.
She has contributed field recordings to the Janek Schaefer’s Found Soundscape Project and The New Bergen Sound Archive, and her frozen lake recordings have been aired on BBC’3 Late Junction. Recent excursions include commissions for music for film and scores.
She has released an amalgamation of limited edition vinyl and cassette. Highlight performances include Fort Process, Colour Out of Space, SuperNormal, Electric Spring Festival and The Delaware Rd
